Not only did our guys have a great time making the most of Amsterdam and all it had to offer, they also hustled their way around this years IBC show! We greeted some very weary travellers back into the office a week ago and ever since they’ve been busy catching up on the many leads they made. We caught up with the team leaders of EMEA and APAC, Mike Forbes and Oscar Nulty for a breakdown of what they’ve currently got on their plates!


MIKE. “This was my 6th IBC and it didn’t disappoint, I had a great time with the Venator Broadcast team and it’s always a pleasure to catch up with clients, candidates and the latest technologies and trends. We have come back with a number of leads across the broadcast sector from End-User, Production, Playout and Delivery on a global basis.

No surprise to anyone, as an industry there is a wealth of change, mergers and acquisitions happening and the race is on to provide the best solutions at the best price.

From a consumer point of view we continue to be demanding, expecting an engaging catalogue of content to binge on alongside a faultless quality of streaming. With the big players announcing a massive amount of investment in original content to try and compete with major Hollywood productions or the classics from the past, will this be enough to satisfy our appetites. Thankfully the increase in lower costs for internet, more bandwidth and speed, the quality of OTT video is improving on both ends.

OSCAR. “Another great year at IBC, attendance from the Asia-Pacific region did vary and wasn’t at its peak, but there were certainly enough conversations had with current clients and new contacts to mean we are going to be busy as we head into the final quarter of 2018 - Watch this space. For now we will be seeking Sales Managers in Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and a Techno-commercial/APAC Pre-sales Director in Singapore. I’m looking forward to a strong finish to the year and helping people find their new challenge for 2019!”
